"I’ve attended my fair share of baby showers and bridal showers, but I had never heard of a "breast cancer shower" until I was invited to Claudia's. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I quickly learned that this gathering was all about family, friendship, and community. We came together to celebrate and support Claudia with love. Much like a traditional shower, there was an abundance of food, laughter, and smiles all around. It was a fun, lighthearted day, no sad faces in sight! We snapped pictures, shared laughs, and definitely indulged a little too much.
One of the things I loved most was how casual it was. People came and went throughout the day, and the atmosphere felt warm and easygoing. The party favors were adorable bracelets, mini hand sanitizers, and lots of little thoughtful gifts. Claudia’s family wore matching pink t-shirts, which was a sweet touch.
But the most impactful part of the shower for me was the breast cancer registry. I had no idea how many specific needs there are for someone undergoing cancer treatment. The registry listed everything Claudia could use, from front-opening shirts (a no-brainer, right?) to medical supplies, head scarves, wigs, specialty bras, and even things like masks and household items. There were also special dietary requests and even food for her beloved cats. It really opened my eyes to the practical side of what a cancer journey entails so many things I’d never thought of before.
The whole experience was so meaningful, and I think it’s such a beautiful, unique way to honor a significant chapter in a loved one’s life."

"I am a nurse practitioner, working in oncology for 15 years now. When the idea of a breast cancer shower was brought up for my sister prior to her starting treatments, I thought it was a beautiful idea. I had not heard of anything like this before and felt it was a very thoughtful way to help her prepare for this life changing experience, providing her with everything she needed to keep her as comfortable as possible on her journey, while also celebrating her and her life. This is a wonderful gift for patients facing cancer, giving them a few less things to worry about and allowing them to focus on their treatments and recovery. It is also a reminder of all the love and support we have for them!"

"When I first heard of my sister-in-law‘s diagnosis, I was devastated. We always hear the negative aspects of cancer and very few successful stories. I was told that she was going to have a breast cancer shower party and I was very curious. I had never heard of something like that before. I had heard of celebration of life and celebrations of people who beat it but never anything like this.
Of course, like everybody else I had questions. Some of the things I was curious about were how can I help, what can I do, what items I could help her buy.
The event I went to answered a lot of those questions. It was fun, informative, and memorable. It showed us a list of things we can help buy such as special clothing, lotions and medications. There were games like things we didn’t know about her and fun memories.
It definitely made things for me a lot easier. And although it may sound selfish it helped me to understand what she was going through. I highly recommend something like this to help everyone understand a little bit more."
🌸 Loretta C., Ontario CA
"Before attending this event, I had never heard of a breast cancer shower. The concept was completely new to me and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. We’re all familiar with baby showers or bridal showers, but a shower for someone facing cancer? It was both surprising and deeply moving.
As the sister of someone battling cancer, this experience was eye-opening. It reminded me that sometimes we don't always know how to help, but a breast cancer shower gives us a meaningful way to show up. It created a safe, loving space to share tears, laughter, and genuine connection. This type of event can be incredibly uplifting for patients. It reminds them of their value, their beauty and their community even in the midst of uncertainty.
A shower that provides essentials like comfort items, wigs, scarves, skincare products, and even gas cards or meal support can ease that load in a practical way.
In short, yes a breast cancer shower is not only important, but necessary. It helps patients feel seen, prepared, and supported as they enter treatment and recovery. It turns something scary into something deeply human. And I hope more people adopt to this beautiful tradition."
🌸 Jessica V., Glendora CA
"A breast cancer diagnosis is often described as life-altering, a moment that can shift one’s world overnight. That’s exactly what happened to my sister, Claudia. Thankfully, she has been surrounded by incredible friends and family who stand beside her every step of the way.
The Breast Cancer Shower reminded her that she is never alone. It often includes thoughtful practical gifts that helped her through her treatments. While it doesn’t erase the fear or the challenges ahead, it creates a space filled with love, celebration of her strength, and encouragement for the journey forward."
🌸 Kamil K., San Marcos CA
"Going into the breast cancer shower, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I had never even heard of such an event before. But it turned out to be an amazing celebration of strength and resilience, centered on Claudia and everything she’s going through. It was both inspiring and moving, bringing everyone closer together and lifting not only her spirits, but her whole family’s as well. The love and support in the room created an environment where Claudia could truly feel surrounded by care, and I believe she came out of it stronger than ever in her fight to beat this."

Host Tips - Creating the Mood for the Breast Cancer Shower Celebration
Breast Cancer Shower Host Tips
Keep it light and uplifting. This is a celebration of strength, love, and support. Focus on joy, encouragement and togetherness.
Create a cozy, welcoming space. Pink accents and comfortable seating help set a calming, celebratory tone. Adding mellow uplifting music is a nice touch.
Honor the Warrior. Invite guests to share kind words, notes of encouragement or favorite memories to uplift her spirit.
Plan with flexibility. Treatment can be tiring. Keep the gathering short and allow your Warrior to rest when needed.
Offer practical support. Like a bridal or baby shower, remember that thoughtful gifts like comfort items, care kits or meals are preparing your warrior on her new way of living. This could very well be the most difficult and important fight of her life. Practical gifts can be incredibly useful and meaningful.
Celebrate the moment. Whether big or small, this gathering is about showing love and reminding her she’s not alone on this journey.
