Breast Cancer and the Power of Love

Breast Cancer and the Power of Love

Claudia Vargas

Nearly 300,000 women in the U.S. alone are diagnosed annually with invasive breast cancer

I am one of them...

I received my breast cancer diagnosis in late 2023. My world changed in that instant and I had no idea what was ahead of me. I went from living a vibrant healthy life, to disbelief and uncertainty, to ultimately fighting breast cancer with all my might.

Upon sharing the devastating news, my sister and close friends decided to organize a breast cancer shower for me. Yes, a breast cancer shower! Family and friends showed up with gifts and care items that proved invaluable throughout my long and difficult treatment and recovery. The best part...they were joyous in celebrating me as a brave strong warrior, and not a victim.

What I discovered through this celebration was the incredible power of family and friends supporting and cheering me on. I realized the importance of love, hope, positivity and encouragement more than ever. All became very real contributions to my survival.

Had it not been for this thoughtful celebration, cancer life would have been a more difficult road to travel and perhaps even a lonely one. This celebration impacted me beyond words inspiring me to create something meaningful for other breast cancer patients to experience what I had.

And so with profound joy, I introduce Breast Cancer Showers. A way for loved ones to celebrate, honor and support their Warriors facing perhaps the greatest challenge of their lives.

Be brave, be strong and think positive because YOU ARE A WARRIOR and not a victim!

You are loved, xo!
